Harvest Moon

The moon means many things to me — and the moon in September means even more. The intense security, serenity and fascination we feel when the moon is unusually large is an incomparable feeling, and I wanted to paint it with dreamy colours — shades of purple and pink that resemble the lights at night, and the way things look in moonlight.

There is a sense of serenity here, of melancholy or reflection. In this intense serenity, various thoughts awaken within us and evoke many emotions.

In general, I see painting nature as a profound celebration of it — an invitation to notice and truly see the majesty of the universe, and almost an attempt to record these moments when I am fascinated by all the details of nature we experience daily: ones that, no matter how often I see them, I never get used to.
