Jury

“Jury and the Kind Gnome” (جوري والقزم الطيب), written by Abeer Al-Nahhas, follows a small girl with a great cloud of black curls who vanishes into whatever she is reading. I built her world in soft blues and gentle, rounded forms so the book itself would feel like a safe place to curl up in.

I loved drawing Jury reading on her rug and hiding behind an open book — the kind of everyday, absorbed moments that make a child feel seen.
